Top 5 Denver Metro coffee shops

Coffee shop counter

Java, cup o' Joe, Liquid Energy - whatever you call it, it's one of the most popular drinks in the world. So much so, that we have entire shops dedicated to it! With so many to choose from, we thought we would help you narrow it down by recommending our top 5 coffee shops in the Denver Metro area for your next work session, coffee date or simply as somewhere to read a good book.

1. Stella's Coffee Haus - Platt Park

Stella's have been serving up gourmet coffee and tasty treats since 1991. Situated on South Pearl Street, this coffee shop is packed to the rafters every time we go and we can see why, as they offer everything from the traditional latte to the more adventurous chagaccino latte (a beverage made from the chaga mushroom, which is rich in antioxidants and nutrients). On top of that, they have a wide range of sweet treats to whet your appetite, including muffins, pastries and our personal favorite, lemon blueberry bread. They have fire pits on the patio and dogs are welcome so you don't have to worry about leaving your furry friends at home. They also have creative baristas who love nothing more than conjuring up new and exciting drinks, so be sure to ask about this when you pop in.

Address: 1476 S. Pearl St.

2. Pablo's - 6th Ave

With three locations across Denver (Colfax, 6th or Capitol Hill), you're sure to find one near you. Our local is the one on 6th, which has been operating since 2001. They offer a wide range of beverages and snacks at a very reasonable price and each location is decorated differently (we particularly love all the plants that fill their location on 6th). Outdoor seating is available for those who prefer to sit outside on those hot, summer days and we have to mention the pastries and scones, which are to die for! We particularly love the peach scone and almond croissant. As one of Denver's oldest roasters, you can even pick up a bag of their coffee beans to take home with you - score!

3. Lekker - Rino

Vibrant and colorful, you can't help but smile as soon as you walk through the door! This coffee shop and watering hole donates 10% of its annual profits to Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary so you can sip away knowing you are supporting a good cause. Expect the usual options as well as some more unique offerings like their CBD infused beverages, and there are also alcoholic options for those who fancy a tipple (or two). As we're partial to a snaccident, we had to try their tiramisu muffin and boy, it did not disappoint! However, they also offer burritos and bagels for those who prefer a savory treat. With a super cute outdoor seating area, you'll love spending time here watching the world go by.

4. Suzette Bakery

Having only opened in April 2023, this bakery and café is new to the scene, but they're already making their mark on this Edgewater neighborhood. If you are after some top notch pastries then look no further. Suzette Bakery has, by far, the best pastries in the area! Freshly baked, buttery and oh so flaky, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. They have sweet and savory options ranging from croissants and muffins to quiche and foccacia, so no matter your taste, they'll have something to suit you. Their premium coffees and teas are the perfect accompaniment and the laid-back atmosphere makes this the perfect place to spend a weekend morning after a gentle stroll around the nearby Sloan's Lake.

5. Roostercat Coffee

A female owned coffee shop in the center of downtown, with super friendly baristas who go above and beyond for their customers. They offer high quality coffee based drinks, loose leaf teas and a mouth watering selection of food, which is sold all day - winner! Their iced caramel latte is one of the best I've tried and their bacon breakfast burrito definitely hit the spot. They also have a front and back patio, with some insta-worthy graffitied walls, perfect for any occasion.
